Calmer car journeys

Seat covers keep hair off the upholstery. They are not restraints and not crash protection.

Mud and hair are a real annoyance. They are not the safety problem. A dog loose on a lap, or sliding across a bench, is the safety problem. A cover does not fix it.

Cover, hammock, restraint

The seat cover is the simpler layer. The hammock tries to bridge the rear bench and the footwell. Both are cleanliness products. Measurements are to be confirmed, including whether a hammock blocks a seatbelt buckle you still need.

  • Sort the restraint before you sort the fabric.
  • Short, dull practice trips beat a first outing that is also a vet visit or a holiday.
  • A familiar blanket can help. It is not magic.
  • Do not leave a dog in a parked car. Warm or not, that is the rule we will repeat.

The seat cover tool asks which row of seats you mean and uses your pet's size as a label, not a tape measure. Browse Car Travel for the two listings.

FAQ

Is a seat cover a dog seatbelt?

No. It covers the seat. Use a separate restraint that is actually meant to hold a dog. WellPawed does not currently list one.

Will it fit every car?

We cannot say. Width and attachments on both listings are to be confirmed.
